“If you could do the exact same work you’re now doing and make 2-3 times more money, would you do it?”

In this great industry, you NEED to keep an open mind. It’s crucial for the success of you and your team to do so. Most home business owners are so caught up in the hype of their company that they miss the whole reason they joined the business in the first place – To have both Time and Financial Freedom.

One question I ask all my clients is this “If you could do the exact same work you’re now doing and make 2-3 times more money, would you do it?” Most will say yes, but when it comes to taking action, some actually refuse to make the change. It’s human nature to flee at the sight of change, but change is what moves us forward. As you know, all home businesses are not the same. You can make more money in one than the other, and unless you are willing to do what’s best for you and your team, it might take you a lot longer to get there, if you even get there at all. Why put yourself through all that trouble if you don’t have to? It’s important to set you and your team up for success.
I emphasize the word “TEAM” because not one Network Marketing organization was built by one person. It was done through TEAMWORK!
You’ll be way better off if you focus on Building Teams vs Building a Business.

A saying that I truly love and live by says:
“Build People and THEY will build the business”.

There are 5 Pillars or Keys you need in a company to set you and your team up for success.

Those Five Pillars are:

  1. Company Management with A track record in the field of Network Marketing. (Has the company management team built a downline and had success in doing so)
  2. Timing in the company and timing in the industry.
  3. A remarkable product.
  4. A compensation plan that will pay the part time people (97% of your people will be part time people! They NEED to get paid)
  5. A proven duplicatable system.

If your company is missing even one of these five ingredients, I can almost guarantee you will not succeed long term in this business.

Your Business Not Paying You What You Deserve?

“I’m going to help you evaluate your compensation plan so you will get the most value for all your hard work”

I agree that a remarkable product is one thing to look for in a business. But it’s definitely not the ONLY thing to look at!

 A VERY important key to look for is a good compensation plan that will pay you the most money for all the hard work you put in to build a Team of loyal consumers for that company.

How do you know if you have a good compensation plan? Easy!

Many people will start a business and never know how many people they will need in their team to make their desired income. The majority of people would be satisfied with $10,000 per month of RESIDUAL income. So, lets use that number.

Note: In order to make a RESIDUAL income, you NEED to have a remarkable CONSUMABLE product people will use and buy every single month. Otherwise, you’ll have to find new people all the time to buy your product. If the goal is Residual Income, you want recurring customers – The same customers buying your products every month. You also will want to ask yourself “Would any LOGICAL-thinking person buy this product if there was NOT a compensation plan attached to it? If the answer is no, how in the world will you market that product? See Also: Is Timing Important?

A good compensation plan is the one that pays the MOST money for the LEAST amount of people.
Let me explain before you jump the gun and say something like “My product cost $12,000 so I just have to make one sale a month to make $10,000.” That’s not what I mean. I mean how many of the SAME  people buying your product EVERY month will it take for you to make $10,000 per month in residual walk-away income?

Here’s an example:
There’s a company out there (I won’t say the name for obvious reasons. I’ll just call them company A) requires it’s distributors to be on a 100 point autoship which costs about $100 - That’s great! BUT… the distributor only makes 1/4 of a percent per autoship.

That’s .25 per person!

So, how many ACTIVE distributors buying that product every month would it take for you to make $10,000 per month of residual walk-away income?

Answer: 40,000 people!!! and that’s not counting the people that dropped out!

An example of a better comp plan is this one:
We’ll call this company: Company B.
The average distributor in Company B makes 30% from every 100 points per person. AND… the products are sold at retail value, for the same price the last company was selling the same product for at wholesale value. Why is this important? You can now make retail sales to non distributors and not feel guilty for it. Wouldn’t that be great!

How many active distributors do you need in company B to make $10,000 per month in walk-away residual income?

Answer: 333 people!!!

That’s a significant difference isn’t it?

A lot of us get sucked in with what I call the Smoke and Mirrors. Some examples of smoke and mirrors are the leadership bonuses only 1% of top distributors actually qualify for. Matching bonuses and all the other BONUSES you are promised in a network marketing company to make it look better than it really is are other examples of smoke and mirrors. Don’t get me wrong, these bonuses are great when you qualify for them, but it’s not what pays the bills every month and it’s not residual income. If you can look past the smoke and mirrors and crunch the numbers to reveal how hard you will have to work to get your desired income, you’ll be better off and will probably save yourself YEARS of failure and frustration.

What’s next?

How to Generate Content For Your Blog

“First thing’s first, you cannot do Network Marketing without a Network of people to market to”

If you’re new to network marketing, you may not have a network yet, that’s fine. It’s a long-term goal, but your Network is like gold and should be treated very carefully. Don’t let them just slip from between your fingers. Always give them the option and a good reason to follow your content.

The first thing you will need in order to start building your network is content - Content that brings value to your readers and viewers.

Question – What kind of content should I promote?

Answer – I suggest you write about something you’re passionate about. Network Marketing is a long-term business, so you need to be writing about something you can see yourself doing for life. Whether you’re passionate about Network Marketing or something else, make sure it’s a passion.

Question – After I’ve found my topic, how do I find content to write about? 
 Simple! Sign up for Google Reader. This tool will allow you to receive a steady stream of content daily to your RSS (Real Simple Syndication) Feed Reader. Of course, you can’t copy other people’s content, but you CAN react to it!

 

Answer - I need to repeat this just because it’s really important! You MUST pick a topic you’re passionate about, because you want to be able to stick with it.

You need to stick with it long enough to master it so your network can see you as an expert in that area.

It’s critical that you choose the right focus to begin with because, like I said, your network is like gold and you need to continually bring value to them so you can build that “know, like, and trust”.

Once you’ve chosen your passion, sign up for Google Reader. You can get set-up instructions by typing “Google Reader” into your google browser.

Once it’s set up, you’ll be able to go to anyone’s blog and send it to your RSS Feed. This, like I said, will bring you a steady stream of content to react to and learn from. These can be on any topic of choice. If you want to search for certain blogs by topic, go to google and type in your desired keyword along with (+ Blog).

Example: Network Marketing + Blog

A lot of this, at the beginning, will require much research because you will have to search for credible blogs to gather information from. You want the information to be top-of-the-line stuff so you can bring full value to your network at all times.

I would suggest you choose very carefully from 6-24 blogs to follow and add them to your Feed Reader.

You can also use this information for videos, articles, and podcasts. The beauty about all this is that it’s FREE.

Once you’ve chosen a couple dozen blogs to follow, you can begin reading some of their posts to see if it’s truly consistent with what you want to share with your network. You will know, with time, which ones to keep and which ones to discard. You only want to keep the most valuable content.

Through this, if you can come up with at least one to three ideas per day, you’ll already be ahead of most people. I wouldn’t suggest reading ALL posts in your Reader, because this will cause you to become overwhelmed. This is why I say: “Come up with one to three ideas per day and then STOP!”

Well… this should be enough information to provide you with a foundation to start building a network of people, to provide you with content that will be of value, and make you out to be an expert in your field.

The Secret Language of Prospects

“I will teach you exactly how to tap into your prospect’s mind”

Many people I talk to ask me if I’m a mind reader. I usually say “yes”.
When you know someone’s personality type, you can tell them more about themselves than most people (Including relatives) know about them. This is a powerful tool that needs to be used with care. If you’re to get into your prospect’s mind, you need to be sincere in helping “THEM”. Use this language to help them, NOT yourself. Don’t worry, this will help you, too. In this wonderful industry of network marketing, if you have the right business model, you will benefit only by helping others succeed. If your business does Not promote this behavior, I would RUN!

So how do you pin-point someone’s personality?

There are 4 different personality types:

  • Yellow Personality
  • Blue Personality
  • Green Personality
  • Red Personality

Every personality has certain traits, but we’ve made it very easy to determine someone’s peronality.
I can tell a person’s personality within two minutes of speaking with them on the phone or in person.

A person is either Open or Self-Contained. He/She is either Direct or Indirect. It’s THAT simple. You can’t be Direct and Indirect at the same time, it’s one or the other. You also can’t be Open and Self-Contained, it’s one or the other.

What does it mean to be Open?
Open means you answer the questions that are asked of you without beating around the bush. You give straight answers.

What does it mean to be Self-Contained?
Self-Contained means you won’t give a straight answer, you’ll always feel like asking “Why is he asking me this question?” Talking to someone who is self-contained is like trying to push a rope up a hill. You’re just not getting anywhere.

What does it mean to be Direct?
Direct means you give more and more information, even information I haven’t asked for.

What does it mean to be Indirect?
Indirect is to give short and abrupt answers like Yes, No, Maybe, and it ends there. If I asked an Indirect person how many kids they have they would say “One”. A direct person would have said “I have 1 daughter, she’s 15 years old, she’s in grade 10, she like’s basketball.” They will always give more information than you’ve asked for.

What do the colors mean?

  • The Yellow personality is Open and Indirect. They make up 35% of the population.
  • The Blue personality is Open and Direct. They make up 15% of the population.
  • The Green personality is Self-Contained and Indirect. They make up 35% of the population.
  • The Red personality is Self-Contained and Direct. They make up 15% of the population.

This chart shows you all the strengths, weaknesses, dress codes, tones of voices, and so forth needed to recognize someone’s personality within 2 minutes of conversation. It also teaches certain keywords to use with the different personalities to get their attention and build Instant raport.
Review this chart often, especially before speaking to a prospect or client.

Hopefully this will give you a better understanding of the personalities of your prospects and how to approach them.

Are You Getting The Attention You Deserve? (Probably)

“I Demand Respect”

This is what your prospect is thinking everytime he/she hears from you!

My purpose in writing this post is to open your eyes to why you’re not getting the attention you think you deserve.

How often have you opted into a capture page and received No phone call in return? Or how often have you HAD a call from someone in the industry just to pitch you on their deal or to sell you a product?

“Doing It “RIGHT” From The Start”

You’re better off knowing how to start Network Marketing the Right way from the get-go. But even if you’ve been at this 2, 3, 5, 10, even 20 years, it’s NOT too late to learn. An old dog CAN learn new tricks. (Trust me, I know, I’m a dog trainer by trade) ;)

~What Not To Do~
When I started out in this industry, I made a lot of mistakes, but these weren’t mistakes made from my own doing. I was just doing what my upline was telling me to do.
They said “Make a list of all your friends and family”, so I did.
They said “Go get 100 NO’s, you’ll be that much closer to a YES!” And I did that!
This only got me $12,000 in debt, in 2 years, with a $10.00 return. Bummer for me, huh!
THAT my friend, does NOT work!

Do you want to know what else doesn’t work?

Sharing your business opportunity with EVERYBODY you meet! Not everybody wants your business, so you need to narrow down your options and only talk with people who WANT to hear what you have to say.
This will save you A LOT of time and effort.

How Do You Do That?
By having a system in place that attracts just those people.

People do Not want a business opportunity shoved into their faces. Actually, people don’t want a business opportunity at all! They want the life style and they want to know you can help THEM get there. If you can establish that kind of relationship, you have a WAY better chance in this industry.

“If you’re just shoving an opportunity down their throat, you really don’t have much of a chance of accomplishing your dreams, let alone helping someone else get there.”

Some very obvious reasons why this doesn’t work are:

  1. People join PEOPLE not companies or products
  2. People want to do business with people they Know, Like, and Trust.
  3. People don’t like it! And…
  4. EVERYONE and their Grand-Mother is doing the exact same thing!

What I’ve learned is that when everyone is doing the same thing, it tends to lose its value. Also, people demand respect. They want to know that you’re there for THEM. THAT my friend is the reason it doesn’t work.
So, what is there left to do, if you can’t pitch your deal?

HERE it comes!

Bring “value” into people’s lives. Instead of always talking to people to “GET” something, talk to them to “GIVE“!

People want help!

Statistics show that there are 155,000 people that join a network marketing business every WEEK. What we also know is that 97% of those people will fail. So, there are 150,350 people failing and looking for answers every week.

These Questions Sound Something like:

  • Why didn’t I get the $10,000 in a WEEK like I was promised?
  • Where’s the upline support I was Promised? I paid for the program and my upline hasn’t spoken to me since I signed up!
  • Why can’t I do this?
  • Am I a LOSER?
  • Am I too tall, too short?
  • What’s wrong with me!

They don’t want more empty promises! They DO want Answers to these questions.

Competition vs Cooperation

“Being in competition can RUIN your chances for success”

What has changed in the years that could be of benefit to you or someone you know in the Network Marketing field?

Knowing the difference between “competition” and “cooperation”!

In the New Age of Network Marketing there are many things that can help in your success. I want to speak of one that will not only affect your short term success, but also and especially your long term success.

This post will bring you just that much closer to achieving financial freedom within the Network Marketing industry.

Yes, the Network Marketing world is competitive, BUT… there is something you need to realize. You need to have the numbers working FOR you, not AGAINST you.

Let me explain:
People are bombarded by deals being pitched to them on a daily basis. Would you agree that when the majority are all using the same tactic, it kind of loses its value?

The answer is YES!

Also, the statistics show that 155,000 people join a Network Marketing company every week. They also show that 97% of those people will be failing.
That means there are 150,350 people every week looking for answers.

So why would you go around pitching your deal to everyone you meet?
You need to stand out amongst the competition. If people are looking for answers, give them answers, NOT opportunities. That’s where the competition is - Standing out amongst the rest.
What makes you different? Why should anyone listen to you, let alone do business with you?
My clients are always very skeptical with what I do, because I give so much away for free. But there’s one other reason they are skeptical.
Every time they receive a call from someone with whom they’ve opted in, it’s usually to pitch them on their deal or to get some kind of money from them.
Well… I don’t do that. In fact I tell them to put their credit card in the freezer until I get them EDUCATED. I truly believe that ”Education does way with Desperation” and no one can make an intelligent decision in desperation. One of my most recent clients that I’ve been working with for about a week now was just waiting for the moment that I’d “PITCH” him on my deal. Well… I’ve now been speaking with him approx. 3 times a day for about 4 days and NO PITCH! He then decided he would speak to one of my other clients (The one who refered him to me) and he asked “You’ve been working with him for a while now, has he pitched you on his deal yet?” My client told him “I’ve been working with Luc for about 1 month now and he hasn’t yet pitched me on his deal, but I’ll tell you what he did do! He’s been giving me A LOT of great information that has helped me in MY business.”

I build relationships with people. I coach, mentor, and instruct them on how to succeed. I teach them the applicable laws (You know, the ones you can go to jail for if you’re not following) to the Network Marketing industry. Just knowing these laws will save you from YEARS of failure and frustration. It will keep you safe from almost all scams.
I also teach what we call “The Five Pillars For Your Success” which teaches you the five keys necessary and “Crucial” for your success.

When people find out they’re in an illegal pyramid scheme, two things happen:

  1. They feel horrible for falling for it and…
  2. They feel relief that their lack of success wasn’t their fault.

This brings hope again to their lives, it brings their dreams back into full activity.

This is what I do,  I stand out from the competition and I mentor people with “No Agenda” and I bring hope back into their lives. A coaching call with a client could last 5 minutes or 1 hour, it really all depends on the person I’m coaching. THAT is mentoring with no agenda.

People know “TRUTH” when they hear it and I speak nothing but truth when I’m on the phone with a client. THAT is one of the major reasons I am where I am in my business. Another reason is that I truly care about the people I serve and just want what’s best for them. Most people ask to join me in my business, but some don’t. Some are happy with what they have and that’s perfectly fine. I’m glad to be able to help them in any way I can . I NEVER ask someone to join my business. THAT’S what this industry is all about “Helping people achieve their goals. “THEIR” goals, NOT yours. When you help others achieve their goals, yours just seem to take care of themselves.

Lets summarize.

You need to:

  1. Be giving
  2. NOT pitch people on your deal
  3. Be a Mentor with a servant’s heart
  4. Coach people on TRUE proven principles
  5. Coach people with No agenda
  6. Be caring and sincere about helping them succeed
  7. Just be yourself!

  2. Reading the Policies & Procedures (Your contract).
  3. Asking the 10K question (How many ACTIVE distributors will I need in my downline to make $10,000 per month walkaway residual income?)
  4. Checking the Timing in the company, timing in the industry.
  5. A remarkable product, or even ANY product at all.
  6. A compensation plan that will pay the part-timers? (97% of your team will be part-time business builders. It’s crucial that your team gets paid).
  7. Mentor that will work with you, for YOU and that offers a proven duplicatable system for success that will work for you.(Success leaves footprints in the sand you can follow. If you can’t follow the footprints, you’re probably on the wrong beach.)

You completely eliminate your chances for success without taking these things into consideration. These are things you need to ask to get a clear picture of what you’re getting yourself into. If you were going to purchase a franchise tomorrow, would you not have done the research? Would you not want to find out what your chances are of making the most money for your time? How about finding out how duplicatable the system is so you can sell pieces of the franchise and collect the check. Would you not want to know that your business partners could duplicate what you’ve done and make the most profit in that business? I think you would. If not, you’re really just not cut out for business.

You’re a BUSINESS OWNER! Do the research and find out as much about the company as you can before jumping in. One more thing! Wouldn’t you like to know what to look for in a company, in order to make the right decision?

Are You Ruining Your Credibility?

“Promote the wrong program and KILL your credibility!”

I’ve noticed that people are signing up for EVERY single free program out there.
I get it! You’re thinking “Why not, it’s FREE!”

But Stop The Madness Already!

You opt-in thinking WOW, I’m gonna get 35 trillion twitter followers!” In reality, it doesn’t work, but you start promoting it anyways.
People see you promoting this program, some start to sign up for the program and you think “This is GREAT!”

Oh yeah, but wait! Don’t you remember, it DOESN’T work! Do you know what it DOES do?

Think about this for a minute. When you signed up for this program, did they give you a back office where you can keep track of your leads as they optin for the program? Probably not!
This is their way of building THEIR list.

You’re Building Someone Else’s List!

Is that really what you want to be doing?

Also, everytime you promote something that doesn’t produce results, it absolutely KILLS your credibility.

I was DEVASTATED!

Why? Because the other day I signed up with one of these programs. I thought “It might work”. Immediately after I signed up it updated my Twitter with an ad promoting that program. I was DEVASTATED!
You’re thinking “Big deal!”
Well… the reason I was devastated is because EVERYONE saw this ad. I didn’t even know if it worked yet. I tried to go back and fix the problem, but it was near impossible. One person made a comment like “Oh, you’re doing THAT!”

I decided at that point to NEVER  join anything without reading the fine print first and after realizing that I was building someone else’s list. I would never join any of these programs again.

There are two things that are CRUCIAL to your success, if you want to make it in this industry:

  1. Building Relationships (See: “Relationship Building“) And…
  2. Building Credibility.

I really want to see you succeed, so PLEASE take my advice and stop with the madness already.

Not what you expected?
Well, I can guarantee that you won’t build a strong business without it. Many of us try to skip this part. We’re told network marketing is a “SALES” business. Just a numbers game. You’re not buying? Then move over, NEXT! 
People are PEOPLE, NOT numbers. They are mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, grand-mothers, grand-fathers, aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces. These people have goals and dreams just like you. They have families to support.
My question to you is this: “Have you been hammered by this industry so bad, that you’ll use people and risk people’s lives to get there?” If so, you’re in the wrong industry; you belong in Corporate America! I don’t know about you, but I have a heart. I have moral values, and risking people’s lives sounds pretty inhumane to me. I know people who have had their credit cards maxed out, almost committing suicide, and their upline still told them they weren’t doing enough. Something’s wrong with that picture! I want to measure my success by the number of people that I’ve helped reach theirs. One thing I’ve learned is that people “NEED” a few things to feel complete:

  1. They ”NEED“ to feel loved and appreciated.
  2. They “NEED” motivation
  3. They “NEED” a support person, or group.
  4. They ”NEED” hope in their lives. 
  5. They ”NEED” to know that you’ll be there to help them in their struggles and rejoice with them in their victories and accomplishments.

You need to be a friend, a mentor, and a teacher.
In order for you to be all of these, you always need to be in a state of growth. You need to continually be learning through experience what works and what doesn’t. Teach them the proven strategies and make sure your strategies are duplicatable. Everything doesn’t work for everyone, but there’s always something they can do and you need to be able to present them with these strategies. This is also a good reason to get to know your client well enough to match him/her with things he/she can do to start building relationships and start building a list of clients to help and work with. The #1 thing you need to teach your clients and your team is to build lasting relationships with people.

So as you can see, this process can take some work, but the relationships are priceless. It leads you to continually grow as a leader and it will be the means by which you grow a long-lasting organization that will leave a legacy for many to follow. This is what gives you purpose in this industry and this will bring to you the greatest sense of fulfillment you can experience in your entire lifetime.

In conclusion, you need to “start building relationships” with your clients. Only when you master this will you have the results that will build your financial reserve.

~How To Be an Effective Leader~

To lead is to teach, and to improve as a leader is to teach more effectively.

Know your clients, understand their circumstances, and minister to their needs.

A few ways in which you teach as a leader are:

  • Setting The Example
    -Teach what you live and live what you teach
  • Follow the Proven System 
     -As you follow the system, you teach all who work with you to do the same. You help others to know and see how they can do the right things.
  • Speaking Directly about true proven principles and Strategies. 
     
     -The truth is the truth and the truth will set you free from your financial burdens. People know truth when they hear it, so if you teach true principles that are proven and that are realistic for all to accomplish, you will be able to build people up. Like we always say: build PEOPLE and they will build your business.

Leaders have many opportunities to teach principles. These opportunities include leadership meetings, interviews, one-on-one discussions, and other spontaneous opportunities in the normal course of leading and interacting with others.

When we assemble together, we should instruct and edify each other, that we may know how to act, and direct our business for the benefit of all who will work with us and for the benefit of our success, and thus become instructed in the right principles.

Because time is limited, time spent on teaching should be carefully planned.

Sometimes brief thoughts can be given and in other instances, one or more participants may be asked in advance to lead the group in a detailed study of selected topics.

Those receiving such assignments should use the principles and methods of teaching as outlined below:

Deciding What to Teach 

In preparation for teaching in a meeting that will include detailed instruction, presiding leaders should determine what should be taught. They will select subjects that teach principles and strategies that will meet the needs of those assembled.

 

Inviting Inspiration by Listening Carefully In Reverence 

We can teach and learn true principles and be edified together when inspiration attends us. We can invite inspiration by our reverence and the attention we give to it. As you study a topic, listen carefully to the whisperings of inspiration that enters your mind and utilize this inspiration to meet the needs of those you’re teaching.

 

~Teaching in Interviews~

An interview is more than just an interview. It’s an occasion for studying and learning principles. 

Remember that there is a higher power, even God, the creator of all things, who knows the needs, worries, strengths, and weaknesses of all those you meet. Often, your conscience will prompt and teach you as you prepare to help individuals in their endeavors.

The Lord said: “Treasure up in your mind continually the words of life and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every person”.  As you study, be open to the possibilitly that certain thoughts, words, or passages may be precisely what someone needs to hear in an interview. Bear testimony of the principles that you know to be true. As you rely on true proven principles (and I mean PROVEN) when conducting interviews, you should always bear testimony of what it has done for you in your life. You may also share experiences to show how the principles being discussed have helped you and others in your lives.

As you see, there are diverse ways of teaching principles. And when you are open to the promptings of your conscience or inspiration when studying, it will meet the needs of those who are listening. As you teach, carry with you a humble heart and a willing to serve, and you will be that much more effective in your teaching abilities. Become a mentor with a servant’s heart.
